dVolkswagen's announcement at the Munch Motor Show that it will no longer produce Seat vehicles has caused a stir in the automotive industry. However, some of the more popular Seat models will be rebadged under the Cupra brand over the next few years.
Volkswagen's chairman Thomas Schafer stated that "the future of Seat is Cupra", confirming that the group would increase investment in the brand after the current Seat models are phased out. While some Seat models like the Ibiza supermini will no longer be produced, the Leon hatchback will be rebranded as a Cupra vehicle.
This decision reflects Volkswagen's strategy to streamline its portfolio and focus on electric vehicle production. It is also a testament to the popularity of the Cupra brand, which has grown in recent years and is now being positioned as a standalone marque. Only time will tell how this shift in branding will affect the automotive landscape, but it is clear that Volkswagen is taking bold steps to position itself for the future.
A lot of the last available Seats have been snapped up by our finance partners and are on offer at greatly reduced lease and PCP offers - there's no need worry about after sales and servicing as it is likely most Seat dealers will be rebranded to Cupra.
The last of the Seat bargains can be snapped up directly from the AVC website where you can easily explore and configure your own Seat quotes; all are great value value. However, you will need to hurry as this really is a case of when they're gone, they're gone!
